WHY ELLIOT GILES STARTED VANDERVOLT THE ELECTRIC BIKE COMPANY

The story of VanderVolt starts with my family, especially with my dad’s journey to get healthier. After my dad recovered from his health issues, my brothers and I wanted to help him stay active. So, we got him a tricycle for Christmas, and I turned it into an electric trike to make it easier and more fun for him to use. This experience opened my eyes to how much an electric bike could help people.

Seeing how happy and active my dad became with the electric trike, I was inspired to start my own company that could offer this joy and freedom to others. That’s how VanderVolt was born. The name VanderVolt comes directly from my dad’s middle name, Vandervelt. It’s a special way to honor him and the positive changes he made in his life.

VanderVolt is more than just a company to me. It’s about sharing the happiness and health benefits that my dad experienced with more people. My background as an Olympic runner means I’ve always been passionate about fitness and pushing limits. With VanderVolt, I bring that passion to helping others find a fun and accessible way to stay active and enjoy the outdoors.

VanderVolt represents the journey my family went through and the lessons we learned. It’s about helping people move more easily through life, just like my dad does now with his electric trike. It’s a celebration of getting better, no matter where you start, and it’s a reminder of how technology and a bit of creativity can make a big difference in our lives.
